From the moment of her husband’s terminal cancer diagnosis, Lorraine determined that she would do everything within her power to help him and to allow for him to die at home as was their wish.  She realized that she could not do this without knowledge and begun searching for information about his disease and the pain and symptoms he would experience as his disease progressed. 

She then sought knowledge about pain and how it could be controlled.  Lorraine learned a lot and discovered that there was much she could do to improve the quality of her husband’s life.

Testament to this; despite his prognosis of 3 to 9 months; her husband Brian survived for 2 years, remained active and alert and was not bed bound until 3 short days prior to his death.
