Dear Lorraine,

It is so hard watching your partner in life slowly deteriorating before your eyes! I still read your book as I feel it's the only link I have with someone else who understands what I am going through. I haven't seen anything like your book anywhere, to people like me it is a shining beacon in a vast ocean. I don't know how many people have requested your book Lorraine all told, but I know I am just one of those numbers who will always be grateful for your deciding to write it all down, pouring out your heart and your feelings which must have been hard, but gratifying, probably not knowing how that courage and determination would eventually be a lifeline to many others like me. You are still my place in the dark I can go to, knowing you will understand every feeling or thought I might have. Thank you Lorraine

I am really looking forward to reading your book! I am trying to be strong for my husband in this unexpected journey that we have been thrust into in our lives. May God continue to bless you with his peace and strength for taking the time to write this book to help others in their fight with their terrible disease caused by asbestos.

Dear Lorraine,

I finished your book last night. My thoughts are much the same as yours when you walked this same journey – anticipatory grief – at least I can now know what my mind, body and heart are going thru and I am really going to try to live in the moment and enjoy whatever time we have left as a couple.

Your reflections and poems were sad to read but at the same time a source of inspiration to me. I will reread “Lean on Me” many more times in the months ahead. My sincere thanks and appreciation for sharing your innermost thoughts and struggles in this most special book. I am sure that it has continued to help numerous people fight this cancer battle.

Dear Lorraine,

a friend has just given me your book - and she marked the place where she knew I was - and I am just staggered, I could have written that book myself, you say just what I am thinking and feeling in all aspects. I have followed your every feeling, Thank you for having written that book which just says exactly what goes on in a wife's mind and feelings - it is of comfort.

Dear Lorraine,

I sat down to read a few pages of your book. I didn't put it down until I finished reading it. I really appreciated a lot of what you shared. I can identify with much of what you described. For just an hour while reading your book I forgot about myself and thought about other families. I never knew what people went through when they lost a loved one. I never understood.

Thank you

Dear Lorraine,

I received a copy of your book "Lean on Me" recently and was amazed at how much your journey and thoughts paralleled my own experience. You expressed much of what I had experienced and have not been able to verbalize to my family and friends who supported me throughout the long period of caretaking. Thank you for writing your book and for the many beautiful poems and thoughts you shared. I am sure I will re-read it many times.

Hi Lorraine,

I purchased two of your books yesterday. You inscribed them for me and particularly thoughtful words for my friend Lynne, who is nursing her husband who is in his terminal faze of his disease. Lynne said after reading your book, she has felt that you are there at her right shoulder guiding her. I have read half of the book already and am impressed, having studied palliative care for thirteen years, at how concise your explanations are of the drug regimes and medical issues. Some of my nursing colleagues don't have as clear an understanding as you do.

Congratulations on your book.
